We have had many lovely people stay at Escuela La Crujía over the years and many have returned and become regular visitors. We appreciate all of their kind words and also always encourage them to speak their minds, so that we might learn from their opinions on our accommodation, facilities and services.

What a fabulous spot. Our stay could not have been pleasanter. We were sad to be staying only one night! Everything, from our welcome to the lovely spacious accommodation and unexpected kitchenette, to the really inviting visitors’ lounge, the pool, breakfast and the proximity of two good, inexpensive restaurants made this an experience we plan to repeat. My partner and I have stayed here several times……..you are always made to feel at home, relaxed and part of the family…..Toni (owner) has an excellent personality,and one to always enjoy a laugh with!
The rooms are clean , comfortable and enough to be able to stay in with a bottle of wine some light snacks and t.v…..
Love the surrounding areas and if you want a spanish experience this is your place…..

Stayed here for two months mid January-mid March 2010 weather somewhat mixed but the rooms were very comfortable and the woodburner stove kept us warm on the days when the temperatures dipped. Very handy for either the coast or trips inland to the wonderful countryside,Malaga city only 30 minutesw drive away.

I stayed for two weeks (a while ago) and I am dying to return to this oasis of summer relaxation… The rooms were fabulously furnished, bathroom was nice and Satellite TV was plus for watching the 2006 world cup! This is the place to RELAX!! Off the beaten track, so a rental vehicle is required…. Imanol and Toni are nice people.. friendly, knowledgeable and helpful…If your looking for a base in explore eastern Costa del sol, this is a fantastic start…!!

Estuvimos en La Crujía una semana en agosto, con mi marido y mis dos hijas, (de 1 y 3) y puedo aseguraros que ha sido la semana mas relajante para nosotros en todo el año. Realmente hemos descansado a pesar de que las nenas necesitaban estar atendidas en todo momento. Para ellas había mucho entretenimiento, la piscina un lujo, superlimpia y el agua calentita, una gozada, la colchoneta, que disfrutamos hasta los adultos saltando como niños pequeños, el ping pong, y la súper barbacoa que hicimos un día que nos salió todo de rechupete y no nos faltó de nada. El entorno precioso con sus gallinas y el gallo, los árboles frutales, los mandarinos, las plantas, ha sido todo espectacular. La decoración de las habitaciones con mucho gusto con su apartado de cocina totalmente funcional, aire acondicionado y mosquiteras. En el salón común, con un toque bohemio, pasamos muchas horas, ya sea por tener un rato de relajante lectura o jugar un divertido juego de mesa con la familia o simplemente charlar un rato con los agradables dueños y dejarnos cautivar por la historia de La Crujía. Ya que estoy hablando de los dueños, son súper majísimos. Toni e Imanol desde luego han dado todo para que nosotros nos sintiéramos como en casa y lo consiguieron! Si nos faltaba algo, ella nos lo proporcionaban, incluso nos regalaban higos y uvas de su huerto que por cierto estaban riquísimos. Nos dejaron espacio en su nevera privada unos días que habíamos comprado demasiada comida y no entraba en la nevera de la habitación. En toda la semana casi no salimos a la playa o de excursión, porque la Crujía tenía tanto que ofrecer, que no necesitamos más. Precio-Calidad del alojamiento es un 10 o mas si se puede, ya que para lo que ofrecen el precio es muy barato y lo recomiendo altamente a los que quieren estar unos días apartados de los ruidos y el estrés de la ciudad. Cuando busquemos la paz, armonia y tranquilidad volveremos a la Crujía! Y eso será pronto!

We were looking for somewhere to stay near our son who lives on the coast and this proved to be the perfect place. On previous visits to Spain we have always rented a villa so weren’t sure about staying in a BandB but we needn’t have worried. We really enjoyed the experience and found Toni very friendly helpful.
It was a treat to have a lovely continental breakfast prepared for us in the delightful old school hall. If the weather had been less good than it was we could have spent ages in here looking at all the books.
We stayed in the Lemon apartment which had very comfortable beds and was equipped with everything you might need. We actually spent very little time in it during the day apart from preparing evening meals which we had on the little patio outside beside the dama de noche shrub with it’s intoxicating scent.
The garden is stunning, especially lit up at night. We spent most evenings sitting by the pool looking at the stars the lights of Velez in the distance ( and getting badly bitten by mosquitos ! )
Toni kindly allowed our family to use the marvellous pool and garden during the day, even though they were not actually staying there. The grandchildren had a wonderful time on the trampoline playing table tennis. They thought granny and grandad’s new home was really nice !

All in all a wonderful holiday. We have already booked for next Spring and look forward to seeing Toni again.

Escuela Crujia ist ein wunderbarer Ort:
ein historisches Gebäude, sehr libevoll und äusserst geschmackvoll renoviert und eingerichtete. Ein riesiger Garten mit schönem grossen Pool – alles äusserst gepflegt. Wenn man fernab vom Strandgetümmel ruhige, relaxte Ferientage verbringen will, ist man hier genau richtig.
Mit dem Auto erreicht man schnell die andalusischen Bergdörfer. Hier sollte man Comares auf keinen Fall verpassen. Toni ist eine wundervolle Gastgeberin. Für mich war es eine ideale Mischung aus familiärem Ambiente und Unabhängigkeit. Die Bibliothek ist ebenfalls grosse Klasse ! Wer hierher fährt braucht eigentlich keine Bücher im Gepäck mit zu schleppen.
Für mich war es sicherlich nicht das letzte mal ……

On a passé 2 jours très agréables dans ce gîte original, ancienne école dont la transformation/rénovation est bien réussie, et avec goût. Chambres climatisées bien décorées et pratiques, avec le coin-cuisine dans la nôtre, et un petit frigo et micro-ondes dans celles de nos enfants, la terrasse pour manger à l’ombre du parasol, la belle piscine pour se rafraichir, et tout autour, le jardin fleuri et vert, bien entretenu. La table de ping pong a été appréciée…Accueil impeccable, les proprios sont très sympa…le lieu est calme, voiture indispensable. On a envie d’y revenir et de le recommander !
